These genes included SMARCA2 and PRKDC7,8, which have been shown to be synthetic lethal targets in subsets of lung cancers, as well as the adenosine deaminase acting on RNA gene, ADAR. Suppression of ADAR gene expression showed outlier lethality in HCC366, NCI-H196, and NCI-H1650 lung cancer cells compared to other tested lung cancer cell lines (Fig. 1a). The gene discussed is SMARCA2; the disease is lung carcinoma.
