In the “Hippo signaling pathway”, a transcriptional coactivator Wwtr1 (also known as TAZ) and its enhancers Tead1/3 were significantly up-regulated with their target genes, such as Ctgf, Serpine1 and Fgf1, up-regulated as well (Fig. 5, Supplementary Table S2), suggesting that TAZ and TEAD could be involved in controlling organ sizes and/or promoting cell growth and proliferation in PPVL-induced splenomegaly. This evidence concerns the gene CCN2 and Splenomegaly.
