IGSF9B and Anxiety: Together, these data highlight that (1) CeM neural activity is modulated by the valence of the environment (“safe” vs “anxiogenic”), (2) beta oscillatory activity in the CeM represents a novel neural signature of pathological anxiety induced by deletion of Nlgn2, and (3) Nlgn2 and IgSF9b bidirectionally modulate anxiety-related neural activity in the CeM particularly during risk-assessment behavior.
