When we performed more detailed IR signature analysis to parse out potential lineage trajectories of γδ T cell subsets bearing combinations of PD-1, TIGIT, and CD160 in ART-suppressed HIV infection and/or aging, interesting findings emerged; firstly, our results show that a substantial proportion of the circulating γδ T cell compartment in healthy younger subjects express CD160 (Figure 3A) that is not elevated with HIV- or age-associated activation or exhaustion (Figures 3A–C). Here, CD160 is linked to HIV infectious disease.
