Indeed, the typical manifestations make ACP a unique iron overload disease being: (i) The only one among the Neurodegeneration with Brain Iron Overload disorders, to whom ACP belongs, manifesting systemic iron overload; (ii) The unique systemic iron overload disease characterized by neuropathy as major cause of morbidity and microcytic anemia with low serum iron and transferrin (Tf) saturation as a common manifestation. Here, TF is linked to Rare hereditary hemochromatosis.
