FADS1 and neoplasm: Consistently, our in vivo data demonstrated that delta-5-desaturase knockdown in xenograft tumors led to elevated levels of 8-hydroxyoctanoic acid in mice with dihomo-γ-linolenic acid supplementation (Fig. 3), which consequently inhibited the tumor growth (Fig. 4, Additional file 2: Table S1 and Additional file 3: Table S2).
