CRP and Sepsis: APACHE II scores, CRP and procalcitonin levels in patients with a diagnosis of SIRS were significantly lower compared to patients with diagnosis of sepsis and severe sepsis/septic shock (p=0.031, p=0.022, p<0.001, respectively), whereas there were no significant differences between these groups in terms of Charlson index, SOFA score, neopterin and pro-ADM levels (p=0.139, p=0.115, p=0.997, p=0.233, respectively).
