CRP, procalcitonin, neopterin and pro-ADM levels were found worthless in determining the types of bacteria (gram-negative or gram-positive) in patients with bacteremia (18.8±8.4 versus 18.4±9.6 mg/dl, p=0.662; 16.4±27.6 versus 7.3±10.7 ng/dl, p=0.145; 18.6±28.2 versus 23.5±43.4 nmol/L, p=0.409; 548.1±486.3 versus 721.3±907.4 ng/L, p=0.638, respectively). Here, ADM is linked to bacterial infectious disease with sepsis.
