Although we do not have a clear explanation for this finding, we think it is possible that the formation of ICs by these vesicles can cause these structures to aggregate44–46; ICs activate and induce platelet aggregation47, and a considerable frequency of platelets-derived EVs in blood of patients with RA are CD62P+ and CD40L+ (platelet activation markers) (Villar-Vesga J, et al. Submitted manuscript). This evidence concerns the gene SELP and rheumatoid arthritis.
