Further in vitro and in vivo studies supporting a relevant role for SOCE in breast cancer tumorigenesis have revealed that up-regulation of the angiotensin-converting enzyme-2/angiotensin-(1-7)/Mas axis, an important component of the tumor microenvironment, inhibits SOCE and the PAK1/NF-κB/Snail1 pathways and results in attenuated breast cancer cell migration and metastasis [73].
