In the breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-435s, the SK3-Orai1 channel complex has been reported to be regulated by cAMP, as activation of the cAMP-protein kinase A (PKA) pathway significantly attenuates both SK3 and SK3-Orai1 complex activity, which, in turn, results in a decrease in Ca2+ influx and cancer cell migration [96]. This evidence concerns the gene ORAI1 and breast carcinoma.
