In this review, we wish to focus our discussion on the effects of testosterone deficiency (i.e., hypogonadism) and testosterone therapy in men with inflammatory diseases, and the changes in the expression and function of inflammatory biomarkers, such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and C-reactive protein (CRP). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and hypogonadism.
