EAR-2 expression is increased in the marrow of patients with AML and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) compared to normal BM [32], and silencing of EAR-2 expression in AML cell lines results in terminal differentiation and apoptosis [32], showing that EAR-2 regulates differentiation also in malignancies. This evidence concerns the gene NR2F6 and acute myeloid leukemia.
