SRY and infection: Basnet et al. (2015) reported SrND643-carrying lines expressing 5–40% disease severities accompanied by R, MR or M infection responses. Similarly, Singh et al. (2011) observed that CIMMYT advanced lines with race-specific genes Sha7 and SrTmp displayed 1–30 and 5–60% disease severities accompanied by R or MR infection responses. Stem rust variation observed in the present study may be due to the presence of quantitative adult plant resistance genes that interact with SrH or SrY.
