The purpose of this study was to determine whether the expression levels of NURR1 gene and inflammatory cytokines in their PBMCs were specifically altered in PD as compared with HC and NDC in a relatively larger number of Chinese population, and to evaluate the relationship between NURR1 and cytokines expression levels in the PBMCs, which may provide further evidence that NURR1 is involved in the process of PD by mediating the neuroinflammation pathway. The gene discussed is NR4A2; the disease is Parkinson disease.
