The utility of this approach has been demonstrated previously in several high‐throughput screens performed to identify inhibitors of Bcl‐2 family proteins such as Bcl‐xL and Bcl‐B for use as anti‐cancer therapeutics.21, 22 For these studies, we incorporated several screening features aimed at enhancing the identification of clinically useful therapeutics. The gene discussed is BCL2L1; the disease is cancer.
