TWIST1 and neuroblastoma: In the canonical pathway, TWIST1 acts as a downstream effector of Wnt3a (Reinhold et al., 2006), Wnt1 (Howe et al., 2003), and β‐catenin (Goodnough et al., 2016), while in the noncanonical pathway, high expression of TWIST1 correlates with the expression of FZD receptor 6 (FZD6), which is associated with increased spheroid‐forming activity and poor survival in neuroblastoma (Cantilena et al., 2011).
