PLA2G2A and cyst: As in the case of transgenic mice overexpressing sPLA2-IIF [26], those overexpressing human sPLA2-IIA or sPLA2-X (PLA2G2A-TG and PLA2G10-TG, respectively) also develop alopecia and epidermal hyperplasia, accompanied by cyst formation, sebaceous gland hyperplasia, and a disturbed hair stem cell fate (Fig. 2c, d) [47–49].
