Additionally, cross-sectional data (1088 participants without T2DM at baseline and aged 40 y–60 y) from the Insulin Resistance Atherosclerosis Study [164] showed that whole grain products’ intake was inversely related to PAI-1 (β = −0.102; SEM = 0.038; p = 0.0077) and CRP plasma concentrations (β = −0.102; SEM = 0.048; p = 0.0340).
