XIST and cancer: As a novel molecular basis, increasing evidence has shown that lncRNAs plays an important role in various human diseases, especially in cancer.[16–20] The multiple roles of lncRNAs have been elucidated in various cellular biological processes such as cell proliferation, cell cycle progression, cell growth, and cell apoptosis.[21–23] An increasing number of lncRNAs have been identified as targets for cancer diagnosis or potential biomarkers for cancer treatment, such as XIST, MALAT1, and H19.[24–26]
