Pazopanib, a multi-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor against the proto-oncogene c-Kit (c-KIT), platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR), fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR), and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR), has been reported to show beneficial outcomes in patients with metastatic non-adipocytic soft-tissue sarcoma and renal cell carcinoma, and superior safety and quality-of-life profiles compared with sunitinib, which is a similar targeted drug [5, 6]. The gene discussed is KIT; the disease is hereditary clear cell renal cell carcinoma.
