When patients with glycated hemoglobin less than or equal to 7 mg/dlwere separated from diabetics, a mean CRP of 0.83 mg/l was observed; among thosewith glycated hemoglobin greater than 7, there was an average of 0.69 mg/l (p=0.66).When comparing the preoperative CRP value between patients presenting grade II andgrade III obesity, the mean CRP value was 0.56 and 0.86 mg/l, respectively (p=0.12). Here, CRP is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
