VDAC1 and carcinoma: Overall, we detected a significantly higher expression level of VDAC1 (p = 0.0009) in carcinomas compared to adjacent benign prostate tissue (n = 62) (Figure 2(a)), although the latter showed a significantly higher proportion of samples with “very strong staining” (score = 4) (24% of benign tissue vs. 6% of tumor tissue).
