CHD2 and photosensitive epilepsy: A recent study employed gene sequencing to identify the cause of the archetypal generalized photosensitive epilepsy syndrome as a chromodomain helicase DNA-binding protein 2 (CHD2) mutation and found approximately five times as many CHD2 variants in photosensitive epilepsy patients as in the controls (Galizia et al., 2015; Poleon and Szaflarski, 2017).
