We determined the transcript levels of human-mouse conserved genes directly flanking the gene desert, namely Myc, Pvt1 and Fam84b, as well as two other genes, Trib1 and Fam49b, located on the same chromosomal band (8q24 in human, 15qD1 in mouse) in RNA samples extracted from whole mammary gland, mammary tumors, prostate (all lobes combined), colon, bladder, spleen, and thymus tissue. This evidence concerns the gene TRIB1 and breast cancer.
