The present study demonstrated that pretreatment with black mulberry extracts was important to reduce the imbalance in the inflammatory and redox status of animals with sepsis induced by LPS, which could be seen through the reduction in the number of inflammatory cells present in the bronchoalveolar lavage, by the decrease in serum levels of TNF, GPx, and MMP2 activities and in the restoring of the GSH levels. The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is Sepsis.
