The main findings in this study were that RES and BITC could improve the cisplatin-induced: (1) acute kidney injury (histological improvement and reduction of serum urea and creatinine levels), (2) inflammation (reduction of IL-1β and TNF-α levels in the serum and kidney, reduced COX-II expression in the renal tissue, and reduced leukocytic infiltration on histopathological examination), and (3) oxidative stress (reduced renal tissue MDA and NO levels and increased GSH concentration and enzymatic activities of SOD and CAT). Here, CAT is linked to acute kidney injury.
