In this study, however, which was conducted using the data of patients at high risk for ASCVD, a multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that in patients with serum LDL-C levels of < 100 mg/dL, who are assumed to have only a low tendency towards progression of atherosclerosis, increase of the LCAT activity had no impact on the LDL-particle size. The gene discussed is LCAT; the disease is atherosclerosis.
