Distinct from the multitude of solid cancers and hematologic malignancies that have been shown to have lost IRF5 expression (79, 83, 98), a tumor-promoting role for IRF5 was identified in classical Hodgkin Lymphoma (HL) where IRF5 expression was found to be elevated and over-activated in HL B cells (84, 99). Here, IRF5 is linked to hematologic disorder.
