NFKB1 and gastric cancer: Since a high frequency of mutations were found in gastric cancer tissues and cell lines with loss of NKX6.3 expression, we hypothesized that NKX6.3 could modulate the expression of CBFβ and NFκB. As expected, expression levels of CBFβ and NFκB were inversely associated with levels of NKX6.3 expression but positively associated with mutation rates in TCGA datasets (Supplementary Fig. S4A).
