Data obtained from the Nurses’ Health Study and the Health Professionals Follow-up Study also showed that regular use of aspirin after diagnosis was associated with longer survival among patients with mutated-PIK3CA CRC [8], and our recent meta-analysis suggests that the benefit of post-diagnosis aspirin treatment on overall mortality in CRC may be more marked in PIK3CA mutated tumours [9]. The gene discussed is PIK3CA; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
