APOE and Alzheimer disease: Compared to the ADNI MCI diagnoses, when diagnosis was based on the Jak/Bondi approach, there was a smaller proportion reverting to normal, a higher proportion progressing to AD, a higher proportion with at least one APOE-ε4 allele, and higher proportions with abnormal CSF levels of Aβ and tau; thus, this approach appeared to improve identification of individuals with prodromal AD (Bondi et al. 2014; Jak et al. 2009).
