Inhibition of TYRO3 using siRNA or shRNA decreased expansion of colorectal cancer [36,72], hepatocellular carcinoma [45,46], melanoma [48,49], breast cancer [37], ovarian cancer [57], leiomyosarcoma [61], and AML [68] cell lines in culture and forced expression of TYRO3 was sufficient to increase cell density in cultures of the MCF10A breast cancer cell line [38]. Here, TYRO3 is linked to ovarian carcinoma.
