CD163L1 and parasitic infectious disease: Macrophages and lymphocyte subsets expressing CD163 or WC1, respectively, play a role against certain parasite infections (e.g. Theileria parva [66], Leishmania braziliensis [67], Trypanosoma vivax [68], or Neospora caninum [69]), but no direct interaction with parasite helminth structures has been previously reported.
