For this reason, the aim of this work was to evaluate the association between the activity of the antioxidant enzymes SOD1, paraoxonase-1 (PON1), catalase, and ceruloplasmin; total antioxidant capacity (the ferric-reducing ability of plasma (FRAP)); and dyslipidemia, emphasizing the interactions between different altered components of the lipid profile, in volunteers without cardiovascular disease. Here, PON1 is linked to metabolic syndrome.
