From the above results and comparative discussions, it can be concluded that the application of gibberellin can significantly accelerate CIS while the opposite effect was found with (S)-carvone treatment, suggesting a primary function of BAM1/2, AGPase, GBSS, UGPase and INH1/2 in the sugar metabolism in potato tubers during cold storage.
