Oleuropein, an iridoid found mainly in olive leaves and fruits, can prevent CRC by regulation of Wnt/β-catenin, NF-κB, PI3K/Akt pathways, anti-inflammatory activity associated with significant decreased the intestinal concentrations of several interleukins (IL-6, IL-17), TNF-α and inhibited COX-2 activity. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and colorectal carcinoma.
