GSTP1 and prostate carcinoma: Namely, it has been shown that epigallocatechin-3-gallate, a polyphenol from green tea, can reverse epigenetically silenced GSTP1 gene in prostate cancer, while organosulfur compounds (e.g., garlic allyl sulfides) and sulforaphane rich cruciferous vegetables are able to increase expression and modulate activity of GSTP1 [136,137,138,139].
