The MET proto-oncogene, receptor tyrosine kinase (c-MET) N375S mutation (the most frequently encountered in lung carcinoma) and two mutations in phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase catalytic subunit alpha (PI3KCA) have been described in 2 of 10 pre-treated DSRCTs interrogated using a single-gene polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based assay [4]. This evidence concerns the gene MET and lung carcinoma.
