Among these, we identified MAFB [44] and WNT1 [45,46] which have been reported to be pivotal modulators of bone remodeling through the regulation of osteoclasts [44] and osteoblasts [47] differentiation, respectively, thus suggesting a potential role for miR-148a in the regulation of bone resorption and deposition in physiologic conditions and in T1D. This evidence concerns the gene MAFB and type 1 diabetes mellitus.
