EBV-miR-BART20-5p, EBV-miR-BART5 and EBV-miR-BART cluster I (miR-BART1-5p, miR-BART16 and miR-BART17-5p) were reported to inhibit apoptosis of NPC cells by targeting BAD, PUMA and LMP1, respectively [9, 10, 13] while miR-BART22 and miR-BART2-5p have been found to contribute to immune evasion through targeting LMP2A and MICB, respectively [19, 20]. The gene discussed is PDLIM7; the disease is nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
