The Kenya AIDS Indicator Survey (KAIS) 2012 [16] which was a nationally representative survey estimated that 58.8% of HIV-positive individuals were eligible for ART according to Kenya National ART 2011 guidelines and about 18.6% more people would be eligible if Kenya were to adopt the CD4< = 500 guidelines, which translates to an additional 22.6% more individuals if Kenya were to move to “test and treat” compared to the 18.0% we found. Here, CD4 is linked to AIDS.
