A number of genetic variants, such as IL7R (interleukin 7 receptor) rs6897932, IL2RA (interleukin 2 receptor subunit alpha) rs2104286 and CD58 (cluster of differentiation 58) rs2300747 polymorphism, may be linked to the risk and progression of multiple sclerosis based on the data of large genome-wide association studies [5].
