Patients with elevated CEA concentrations as well as sICAM-1high concentrations presented with the worst prognosis (overall 5-year-survival rate 29.1%; cancer-related survival rate 42.4%), whereas patients with normal CEA concentrations and sICAM-1low concentrations presented with the best prognosis of all patients (overall 5-year-survival rate 85.4%; cancer-related survival rate 92.2%). Here, CEACAM5 is linked to cancer.
