Notably, miR-1247-3p derived from highly metastatic HCC cells is directly transferred to fibroblasts via exosomes and converts fibroblasts to cancer-associated fibroblasts by decreasing the expression of its target beta-1,4-galactosyltransferase 3 (B4GALT3) and activating NF-κB signaling in fibroblasts. This evidence concerns the gene B4GALT3 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
