The inhibitor of nuclear import-43 (INI-43, (3-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-1-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)pyrrolo[5,4-b]quinoxalin-2-amine)) was shown to specifically interfere with the nuclear localization of importin β and its cargo proteins NFAT, NF-κB, AP-1 and nuclear transcription factor Y.
