Most strikingly, we made identical observations in the matched patient samples from the clinic, particularly the selection of SOX2+ cells in cisplatin treated recurrent sample from patient HN137, and loss of SOX2+ alongwith the gain of SOX9+ expressing cells in patient HN120’s lymph-node metastatic tumor. This evidence concerns the gene SOX2 and metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
