Hence, the anti-tumorigenic effects of DR and dwarfism [9,29] may involve repression of Fgfr3. Furthermore, in-vitro studies with bladder cancer cell lines confirmed Fgfr3 as a direct activator of lipogenesis via Srebf1 [99–101], which itself becomes hypermethylated and repressed under DR [49,102,103]. Here, SREBF1 is linked to urinary bladder carcinoma.
