Moreover, we observed that SQSTM1 overexpression increased the protein level of Snail in the ANXA1 KD NPC cells, and SQSTM1 knockdown decreased the protein level of Snail in the ANXA1 OE NPC cells (Fig. 6d), without transcriptional effect (Fig. 6e), suggesting that ANXA1-suppresed autophagy participates in the degradation of Snai1 protein in a SQSTM1-dependent manner in the NPC cells. This evidence concerns the gene SQSTM1 and nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
