MEFV and familial Mediterranean fever: There is a report showing that FMF patients with high-penetrance M694 V mutation in exon 10 needed higher-dose colchicine to achieve a good response [28], and there is also a report showing these patients have a significantly lower frequency of complete response to colchicine compared to patients with other MEFV mutations [35], suggesting that there may be an association between high-penetrance mutations and good response to colchicine.
