A multicentre, open-label, randomised phase 3 trial (EURTAC) [30] which is the first prospective head-to-head phase 3 study has shown that erlotinib had longer PFS and milder side-effects than standard chemotherapy in non-Asian patients with advanced NSCLC and EGFR mutations.
