We further explored the resulting hypothesis of pancreatic insufficiency by cross-referencing our results to published transcriptome profiles for pancreatic cell types in zebrafish [55], which mainly include genes encoding various digestive enzymes and their precursors including trypsin (try), chymotrypsinogen B1 (ctrb1), elastases (ela2, ela2l, ela3l) and pancreatic alpha-amylase (amy2a). Here, CTRB1 is linked to exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.
